Merchant Fee Analyzer is a free, independent educational tool for U.S. small-business owners who want to understand their credit and debit card processing costs. The site provides an effective rate calculator, a quote comparison tool, and original explanatory guides covering processing fees, merchant statements, pricing models, and cost review.

What the calculator does
The calculator takes numbers from a merchant processing statement — total card sales, total fees, and transaction count — and produces an effective processing rate, cost per transaction, and annual cost estimate. An optional second step estimates the difference between current costs and a written quote from another processor, over a chosen number of months.
All calculations run in your browser. Calculator inputs are not transmitted to a server and are cleared when you close or refresh the page. If you choose to contact the site by email, only the message you deliberately send leaves your device through your email provider.

Calculator formulas are displayed on the relevant pages and tested against worked examples. Illustrative numbers are labeled and are not presented as universal rates. For claims about interchange, network rules, payment-data security, or regulated debit transactions, the site prefers primary materials from card networks, the PCI Security Standards Council, regulators, and relevant industry organizations.
